What this site collects
Nothing. The site sets no cookies and uses no browser storage to remember you. It has no accounts, forms, comments, advertising, analytics or social media widgets. The typefaces are served from this site, so reading a page does not send your IP address to a font provider.
What the host sees
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes the technical information every web request carries, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. That processing is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy. I do not use that information to identify or follow individual readers.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because this site does not track visitors over time or across other websites, it treats every visit the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. There is nothing to turn off.

Essays link to their sources and to related writing elsewhere. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which apply once you follow a link.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and knowingly collects no information from anyone.
Changes
If these practices change, for example if a newsletter signup or analytics is added, this page will be updated before the change takes effect, and the effective date above will change with it.
